      <image:title>Work - Logo for a nanny placement company.</image:title>
      <image:caption>This company carefully vets each person placed. The logo had to express care and concern for the young, as well as its own dependability. Most of the work is done by the dignified script and roman typefonts, with just a suggestion of a helping hand and an apple.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Work - Logo for a real estate consulting firm.</image:title>

      <image:title>Work - Logo for a jazz big band.</image:title>
      <image:caption>The client, composer-arranger David Berger, had changed his band's name from David Berger and The Sultans of Swing. The new logo had to look more serious than a swing band, yet playful, quirky, and musical. This logo, based on a Chinese chop, filled the bill. You can see it on his bandstands in New York.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Work - Logo for a board game that teaches neurologic localization.</image:title>
      <image:caption>Client: University of Michigan Department of Neurology. Players take the roles of 19th-century neurologists, so the logo had to look both fun and old-fashioned, while expressing the idea of a break in the nervous system.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Work - Logo for a music production company.</image:title>
      <image:caption>The client, a jazz musician, loves Dizzy Gillespie's tune "Oop Bop Shebam," choosing the name for his company. The type looks light-hearted, and the bug uses two real notes that go with the word "shebam" in the song.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Work - Logo for an annual fundraising event.nt</image:title>
      <image:caption>The logo for this fundraising event had to look both fun and historical. So I put a broadly smiling Washington in front of a Gothic-letter G that encircles him and forms part of his hat.</image:caption>
    </image:image>

      <image:title>Work - Logo for a security company.</image:title>
      <image:caption>This client wanted a logo that, like his company's name, projects strength and dependability. Researching the logo bug, an image of the giant Atlas, I shopped for beefcake magazines, and got some very funny looks!</image:caption>

      <image:title>Work - Logo for an app that teaches neurologic localization.</image:title>

      <image:title>Work - Logo for a live theatre company.</image:title>
      <image:caption>The Penny Seats puts on live plays in an outdoor setting. The name harks back to Shakespeare's time, when you really could get theatre seats for a penny. The logo bug is, of course, a penny, with a theatrical mask in place of Lincoln's profile.</image:caption>
